The 2016 Classic Outback Trial was based in Alice Springs, NT.
The event attracted 39 Classic, 4 Modern, 7 Cross Country and 2 Regularity entries, totalling 52. The course looped out and back to Alice Springs on each of the six days, running north to the Bushy Park property and Gemtree, south to Rodinga on the western outskirts of the Simpson Desert and utilised some of the Western MacDonnell Ranges and east to Ambalindum.
Crews contested 34 stages totalling more than 1000 km, with the overall event being over 2340 km.
