THE ITALIAN CONNECTION TROPHY

Conducted in North East Victoria

The Italian Connection Trophy (ICT) was a fund-raiser for the Duchenne Foundation, for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and was conducted in early May.

It was primarily a touring event (a ‘Touring Assembly’), with emphasis on driving and enjoying the roads rather than stopping at the many tourist locations en-route. It was assumed that by entering the event participants wished to drive their vehicles over the, mainly, great driving roads that were available in North East Victoria, with its own special panoramas.

In 2011 Tom Snooks was invited to take over the organising reins for this event which had been running for a number of years from Sydney to Melbourne. Knowing well the North East Victoria region Snooks suggested conducting the event there, based at Albury, and this ran in the region in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
