Following the acclaimed success of the 1988 Bi-Centennial Wynn’s Safari (‘The Big One’) approaches were made by Japanese business interests with a proposal that would guarantee sponsorship of the event over the following four years.

These were accepted by Automotion Australia the event was renamed the “Australian Safari”. However, the very positive association with Wynn’s Australia was never forgotten by Automotion Principals, Tom Snooks and Bob Carpenter.
